Enable wins the Oaks at Epsom under Frankie Dettori

Congratulations to the John Gosden team for winning The Oaks with Enable.

Enable ran out an impressive winner of the Investec Oaks at Epsom in the hands of Frankie Dettori.

John Gosden’s filly was a 6-1 shot for a mile-and-a-half Classic run in driving rain after a thunderstorm hit the track just minutes before the off.

Pocketfullofdreams took the field along for much of the way, but was a spent force heading inside the final three furlongs.

While back pain is a common complaint in thoroughbred racehorses in training, it remains largely misunderstood by people outside the veterinary profession. As such it has been a soft target for many a charlatan and indeed a whole backyard industry has evolved around the supposed ‘putting back in’ of backs that are ‘out of place’. A good starting point to begin to understand this misleading notion of ‘out’, is to take a look at the basic anatomy.
